Fireforge Crafted Beer Wins Big in New York International Beer Competition

Honors Include SC Brewery of the Year and Another Gold Medal for Game Time Decision

Fireforge Crafted Beer has been recognized as the South Carolina Brewery of the Year and racked up three more medals in the 2023 New York International Beer Competition (NYIBC).

Now in its 12th year, the NYIBC is the only international beer competition judged by real trade buyers. Beverages are evaluated based on category and price point. Open to all commercial beer producers around the world, this year’s competition had 700+ entries from over 15 countries competing in nearly 30 categories.

Fireforge’s Game Time Decision, a 4% ABV American Light Lager brewed with Southeastern-grown Riverbend Cumberland Pilsner and malted corn, scored an impressive 95 in the competition, snagging another gold medal.

The brewery’s Day on the Lake, a crisp 5.5% ABV German-style Pilsner made with Riverbend Cumberland Pilsner malt, and Spirito Santo, a 7.2% citrus hop-forward American IPA, both earned bronze medals, scoring 91 and 90 respectively.

Fireforge Co-Founders Brian and Nicole Cendrowski say these honors are especially impactful given the competition’s panel of judges. “Having our submissions recognized by top beer buyers and trade professionals who have their finger on the pulse of consumer buying decisions is exciting,” says Nicole.
